During Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showed a new trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, revealing progress on the game. The trailer announced that the game will come to the Switch in 2025. It featured Samus Aran battling space pirates, using her morph ball form and powerful shots to defeat enemies and clear obstacles.
Nintendo also revealed the new logo for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which looks similar to earlier Metroid Prime titles. This suggests the game might capture the intense atmosphere of those games.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has had a long and troubled development since it was first announced in 2017. Development restarted in 2019, with Kensuke Tanabe returning as the producer.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, released in 2007, was the last game in the Prime series. Since then, other Metroid games like Metroid: Other M in 2010 and Metroid Dread in 2021 have been released. Compared to other Nintendo series like The Legend of Zelda, which had ten new games in the same timeframe, Metroid has seen fewer releases.
