If you’re anything like me, you’ve likely had your fair share of encounters with Helldivers 2 Bile Spewers, resulting in untimely demises. Seeking vengeance against these formidable foes can become a consuming endeavor.
Fear not, for I offer my expertise in Bile Spewer annihilation. Read on to discover where to locate these menacing creatures and learn how to not only survive encounters with them but also anticipate them with eagerness.
Bile Spewers are distinctive creatures, recognizable by their bloated, almost luminous green and orange appearance, inhabiting the Terminid regions. Towering over most other bugs, they emit a glowing green bile reminiscent of an overindulgence in sports drinks before a roller coaster ride.
Although not designated as mini-bosses or primary mission targets, they possess the capacity to wreak havoc on missions if encountered unprepared or in multiples.
Bile Spewers inhabit planets within the Terminid systems, identified by their orange hue on the Galactic War table. Emerging during dynamic bug events, they often join forces with various other adversaries, including smaller bugs, larger Hunters, and armored Chargers or Bile Titans.
On bug-infested planets, particularly on difficulty settings above Trivial, encountering Bile Spewers is highly probable. Vigilance is key to preventing surprise attacks.
One unfortunate reality about Bile Spewers is their ability to eliminate you with a single direct hit from their bile attack, regardless of your armor’s defense rating (Light, Medium, or Heavy). This fact prompted my adoption of Light Armor exclusively, sacrificing durability for enhanced speed and stamina, as even the sturdiest armor offers no protection against their lethal assault.
To counter this, strafing left or right while returning fire is crucial, minimizing the chances of being hit directly. Engaging them from mid-to-long range further reduces the risk of sustaining damage. Aim for their weak point—the head—and unleash sustained firepower, with the Breaker automatic shotgun proving particularly effective at close range.
Alternatively, the Grenade Launcher excels at dispatching them from a distance, with the added benefit of eliminating smaller bugs clustered around them.
When defending a location, deploying Sentries can preemptively eradicate Bile Spewers and other threats. The Mortar Sentry, in particular, stands out as a highly effective Stratagem, especially when positioned in elevated locations inaccessible to enemies. Additionally, utilizing a Guard Dog Rover as a backpack item enhances mobility while dealing damage to adversaries.
With these strategies in mind, you’ll soon find yourself triumphing over Bile Spewers, reversing the roles from prey to predator. Happy hunting, Helldivers!
