Marvel has launched its new Ultimate Universe line with advance solicitations for four ongoing titles set for release in October. This new line offers fresh takes on classic characters and introduces intriguing new elements to the Marvel Universe.
Notably, the series will reveal the new Ultimate Hawkeye and the new Sorcerer Supreme. The titles also promise to explore deeper aspects of the Ultimate Universe, including the nature of mutants and the impact of the Maker’s reshaping of the world.
The first issue to be released is “Black Panther #9” on October 2, written by Bryan Hill with art by Stefano Caselli. This issue introduces the new Sorcerer Supreme, whose magic is linked to an anti-vibranium, differing from the mainstream Marvel Universe. The official solicitation hints at a complex story where Black Panther must contend with the consequences of this new power source and its life-bringing capabilities.
Following this, “Ultimates #5” by writer Deniz Camp and artist Juan Frigeri will be released on October 9. This issue features a new character taking up the mantle of Hawkeye, who finds themselves at odds with Steve Rogers over stolen Stark Tech. The story promises an action-packed conflict involving Captain America and the emerging Ultimate Hellfire Club’s sinister plans.
On October 16, “Ultimate Spider-Man #10” by Jonathan Hickman, featuring guest artist David Messina, will bring together key characters J. Jonah Jameson, Ben Parker, and Harry Osborn/Green Goblin. The issue focuses on an investigative mystery where Jameson and Parker dig into the Goblin’s secrets, confronting dangers and moral dilemmas along the way.
Finally, “Ultimate X-Men #8,” written and illustrated by Peach Momoko, is set for release on October 30. This issue will explore the origins and control mechanisms of mutants within the Ultimate Universe. It confirms the Shadow King as a primary antagonist and promises to uncover the Maker’s influence over mutant history. The cover art features Ultimate Cyclops, hinting at significant upcoming developments in the storyline.
