Mark Coleman recently shared an update on his well-being following a harrowing incident involving a fire.
The former UFC champion found himself in the midst of a terrifying situation when a substantial fire broke out at his family home in Fremont, Ohio, last month.
Reports suggest that the blaze originated in the kitchen around 4 a.m., swiftly engulfing the entire house and endangering its occupants.
In a display of extraordinary bravery, Coleman, upon awakening, immediately sprung into action to rescue his elderly parents from the inferno.
After successfully evacuating his parents from the burning building, Coleman courageously returned inside to search for their beloved dog.
Tragically, despite his efforts, the canine succumbed to the flames. Coleman himself fell unconscious due to smoke inhalation, necessitating his hospitalization and subsequent intubation.
Thankfully, following medical care, Coleman regained consciousness and was deemed stable, able to breathe independently the day following the traumatic incident.

Fellow UFC veteran Matt Brown initially shared the positive news of Coleman’s recovery, which was later corroborated by Coleman’s daughter through a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, showing him engaged in conversation with his family.
Taking to social media himself, Coleman provided a personal update on his health, sharing a video of himself diligently working out in a gym.
Accompanying the footage was a message of resilience and determination, where Coleman expressed gratitude for his progress despite acknowledging the ongoing recovery of his lungs.

His words reflected a spirit of perseverance and self-improvement, encouraging others to strive for betterment regardless of the challenges they face.
In his caption, Coleman wrote,
”I’m feeling pretty good today. My lungs still have a way to go but I’ll get there. The grind never stops. Just keep moving forward. Have a great day everyone and choose to better yourself no matter what. Sober is cool, carnivore diet, 9 ancestral tenets. Hammer house is 4 life.”
In a poignant nod to his remarkable career, it’s worth noting that ‘The Hammer’ carved his legacy in the annals of UFC history over the span of more than a decade.
His crowning achievement came in February 1997, when he secured the organization’s inaugural heavyweight title with a first-round submission victory over Dan Severn.
Despite his storied career beginning in 1996, Coleman’s passion for competition endured until 2010, when the toll of age eventually led to his retirement from professional fighting.
Looking ahead, Mark Coleman announced his eagerly anticipated attendance at the upcoming UFC 300 event, slated for April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In an Instagram video, he expressed his excitement for the event, revealing that he and his daughter would be in attendance.
He specifically highlighted his anticipation for the BMF title fight between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway, enthusiastically stating,
“I’m so excited today. The UFC is bringing me in giving me and my daughter tickets to the biggest show ever, UFC 300 in Las Vegas. So Stoked. Let’s go! The BMF belt is the one I’m excited about. The main event is huge as well. The whole card is sick. See you there.”
Notably, Holloway had previously extended an invitation for Coleman to present the BMF title at UFC 300, adding a poignant touch to Coleman’s attendance at the milestone event.
