Despite not featuring in any matches at WrestleMania XL, Liv Morgan had a memorable experience at the event. While backstage, she watched the action unfold and shared her thoughts on which match surprised her the most.
In an interview with the Gorilla Position podcast, Morgan revealed that Sami Zayn’s victory over Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship stood out to her.
She expressed her surprise at the outcome, considering Gunther’s dominant reign.
“I think it was Sami Zayn winning,”
Morgan said.
“I really do. I kind of, not that I didn’t believe in Sami, but Gunther is just Gunther. I really didn’t know how, I didn’t know if he was going to be able to pull it off. I didn’t think Gunther’s reign was going to end necessarily, and that’s nothing against Sami. He’s just been on such an iconic historic run. The longest reigning champion of this modern era with the IC Title, it’s just I was surprised and I jumped out of my seat. That was kind of the only thing that literally like made me pop out of my seat with excitement.”
Meanwhile, Morgan herself made headlines last week on WWE RAW when she attacked Rhea Ripley, leading to the champion vacating her title due to a severe shoulder injury.
This marked a significant moment in Morgan’s ongoing storyline of seeking revenge against Ripley.
With Ripley out of action, speculation has risen about who will become the new Women’s World Champion on RAW. With various possibilities on the horizon, Morgan remains a compelling contender, especially given her recent storyline developments and strong performances.
