The highly anticipated release of Hi-Fi Rush on PlayStation 5, previously an Xbox console exclusive, has been unveiled on the internet.
A recent trailer for the rhythm action game, posted on Bethesda’s Latin American YouTube channel, disclosed that the Hi-Fi Rush PS5 launch date is set for March 18th.
This revelation was accompanied by an official confirmation following the premature release of the video, which was swiftly taken offline by Bethesda. However, keen-eyed viewers managed to catch a glimpse before its removal. The trailer has since been re-uploaded on social media platforms for viewing.
Speculation arose as to whether Bethesda’s decision to announce Hi-Fi Rush’s PlayStation 5 release was prompted by the recent confirmation of Grounded and Pentiment for the Nintendo Switch. This marks the first acknowledgment from Bethesda or Xbox regarding Hi-Fi Rush’s transition from an Xbox console exclusive to a multiplatform release, as indicated in Microsoft’s recent business update podcast.
Although unofficial, there had been hints suggesting a multiplatform launch for Hi-Fi Rush, notably through in-game teasers and prior reports identifying it as one of the upcoming multi-platform games slated for announcement.
Following the announcements of Grounded and Pentiment for the Switch, attention now turns to the identity of the fourth game, rumored to be Sea of Thieves, which is yet to be officially confirmed.
Eurogamer’s review of Hi-Fi Rush, penned by Ed Nightingale, describes the game as “vibrant and self-assured,” embracing the nostalgia of the 2000s with unabashed enthusiasm. It is hailed as an “unrepentant riot of rhythm-action,” offering an exhilarating experience for players.
