Anna Megill has recently assumed the role of lead writer at CD Projekt Red for their upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, known internally as Project Orion. With over two decades of industry experience under her belt, Megill brings a wealth of expertise to the table, having contributed to titles such as Control and the highly anticipated Fable reboot.
She will collaborate with Alexander Freed, known for his work as lead writer on Star Wars: The Old Republic at BioWare, to shape the narrative of this ambitious project.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Megill conveyed her excitement about collaborating with the talented and innovative team at CD Projekt Red. Her departure from Playground Games, where she was involved in the development of the Fable reboot, was motivated by a desire for fresh challenges and opportunities.
Joining Megill and Freed on Project Orion are Dan Hernberg, Ryan Barnard, and Alan Villani, each bringing their own expertise to the project.
Hernberg, a veteran of Amazon Games and Blizzard, takes on the role of executive producer, while Barnard, renowned for his work at Hitman studio IO Interactive, assumes the position of design director. Villani, previously involved in various WB Games projects including technical leadership on several Mortal Kombat titles, joins as the engineering director.
Although Project Orion is still in its early developmental stages, CD Projekt has hinted at the possibility of incorporating multiplayer elements into the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. Additionally, the studio has revealed plans to initiate production on its next Witcher installment within the year, signaling an exciting future for fans of their acclaimed franchises.
