Larry David, the comedic genius behind iconic shows like Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, recently shared a rib-tickling tale about his encounter with WWE legend, The Rock.
As excitement builds for WrestleMania XL, The Rock is set to make an appearance on the upcoming episode of WWE RAW in Brooklyn.
Known as a powerhouse in both the wrestling ring and Hollywood, The Rock is also dipping his toes into the world of football, spearheading efforts to revive the XFL, which has now merged with the USFL to form the United Football League.
Larry David spilled the beans during a guest appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, recounting how he reached out to The Rock with an offbeat proposition: removing goalposts from UFL games.
According to David, his agent facilitated a conversation with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, during which he pitched his unconventional idea.
“He called me and we had a conversation. He was nice enough to call back and we have this conversation. I pitched him my no goalposts idea, and I thought it was going to happen. He was completely into it,”
David revealed.
In a lighthearted moment, David expressed his fervent desire to see goalposts banished from football, quipping,
“Rich (Eisen), I’ve got to tell you, if there is one thing I could accomplish in my life, If I could get rid of these goalposts, I will die a happy man.”
Meanwhile, wrestling veteran Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) shared his admiration for The Rock’s achievements.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda’s Bill Apter, DDP praised The Brahma Bull as “the biggest star in the world,” emphasizing The Rock’s enduring connection to his wrestling roots despite his astronomical fame.
As anticipation mounts for The Rock’s appearance on WWE RAW, fans eagerly await his interaction with other wrestling icons like Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
With Cody Rhodes slated for a face-to-face confrontation with Reigns on WWE SmackDown, the stage is set for electrifying showdowns as WrestleMania XL draws near.
