Kevin Owens, a prominent WWE figure, has broken his silence on the disturbing lawsuit filed against former CEO Vince McMahon by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee.
The lawsuit alleges sexual assault and trafficking, prompting McMahon to resign immediately and vehemently deny the accusations.
In an interview with Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes, Owens shared his heartfelt reaction, expressing sorrow over the situation and emphasizing the need to prevent such incidents in the future.
Owens stated,
“I mean, obviously, everything that’s come out is awful, just terrible, and there’s really no words to describe how sad this makes me feel. If the people that spoke out went through what they went through, it’s terrible. It’s shameful, and it can’t ever happen again. That’s really all it comes down to.”
Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle also recently provided insights into McMahon’s leadership during his tenure. Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Riddle acknowledged the chaos within the company under McMahon’s guidance.
He praised Triple H for his creative direction and leadership style but suggested that McMahon intentionally made things difficult for talent, leading to a more chaotic environment.
“With Vince, I feel like he did it on purpose. I don’t know the method but like there would be a show. You’d get a script on like Sunday and by Monday, nobody knew what they were doing. The show was being completely rewritten and stuff like that… With Vince around, it was like that probably every week. A little chaotic. I almost felt like he did that on purpose because I feel like when people know exactly what’s gonna happen and you’re doing live TV and you’re trying to get passion and that energy. You kind of get set in a pattern because you know what’s happening…,” Riddle explained.
The departure of Vince McMahon has brought notable changes to the WWE product, with several former stars returning under Triple H’s leadership. Owens’ comments contribute to the ongoing discussion surrounding the allegations against McMahon and their impact on the wrestling industry.
