In a recent development, it has been reported that former NWA World Women’s Champion Kamille is all set to join All Elite Wrestling (AEW). This news comes after Kamille revealed that she had an amazing conversation with WWE’s creative head of NXT, Shawn Michaels, but surprisingly, they never met face-to-face.
Kamille, who has been a free agent since January 1, had been in talks with WWE, but ultimately decided to join Tony Khan’s roster.
In an interview with WrestlingNewsCo, Kamille clarified that despite living close to WWE’s Performance Centre in Florida, she was never invited for an in-person meeting to discuss her potential move to WWE.
Instead, Kamille revealed that her conversation with Shawn Michaels took place over the phone or through other means.
She expressed her gratitude towards The Heartbreak Kid for taking the time to watch her matches and promos, stating that it was “super humbling and amazing” to know that Michaels was a fan of her work.
Kamille’s decision to join AEW may come as a surprise to some, given WWE’s interest in her. However, it appears that AEW’s offer was more appealing to the 31-year-old wrestler.
With her impressive 813-day reign as NWA World Women’s Champion under her belt, Kamille is expected to make a significant impact in the women’s division of AEW.
It’s worth noting that Kamille did visit AEW backstage during a show, where she caught up with friends and acquaintances.
This visit sparked rumors about her potential move to AEW, which have now been confirmed by Sean Ross Sap of FightFul Select.
As Kamille prepares to start her new journey in AEW, fans are eagerly anticipating her debut. With her talent and charisma, she is sure to bring a fresh perspective to the women’s division and create exciting matchups for fans to look forward to.
