Joseph Morgan, stepping into the shoes of Doctor Halsey’s successor, James Ackerson, in Halo season 2, has unveiled his profound affection for the franchise and the meticulous preparation he undertook for his role.
“I immersed myself in the games, you know. When Halo debuted back in 2001, it was an absolute sensation. I teamed up with my buddy, Matt Ryan from ‘Constantine,’ and we tackled Halo together. From Halo 2 to Halo 4, I was there,” Morgan shares with GamesRadar+.
Delving deeper into the lore, Morgan deliberately delved into Halo: Reach, a choice that raises eyebrows considering the second season’s apparent focus on the planet’s story – a tale marked by tragedy.
“Just before filming the season, I revisited Halo: Reach to reacquaint myself with that universe. I also delved into the graphic novels,” Morgan divulges.
“While Halo 3 holds a special place in my heart, I must admit that my recent experience with Reach left a lasting impression. Witnessing its conclusion… it was like returning to a familiar world infused with a sense of nostalgia.”
And when it comes to his current gaming endeavors? Morgan, whose favorite game remains Skyrim, has transitioned from Reach to Night City for his gaming fix on console.
“At the moment, I’m completely engrossed in Cyberpunk 2077. The entire experience has captivated me. I hadn’t played it until the latest update, and now I’m just blown away by how smoothly it runs!” Morgan enthuses.
