Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell expressed his disappointment with this week’s SmackDown segment involving Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
During the episode, The American Nightmare confronted Reigns, asserting his intent to dethrone the Tribal Chief.
However, Reigns refused to shake hands, deeming Rhodes foolish for appearing alone.
The confrontation intensified as additional allies, including Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso, Seth Rollins, and Jey Uso, joined the fray.
Speaking on Smack Talk, Mantell criticized the segment, feeling it detracted from the upcoming match. He believed that casual viewers might struggle to comprehend the storyline presented.
“I’m really disappointed. This episode wasn’t what I expected. The rest of it felt like maintenance, I get that. But the Roman and Cody segment felt like a waste of time. It took away from the match. If someone just tuned in, they’d be lost. I didn’t understand it. I didn’t like it. It was boring.”
As WrestleMania approaches, Rhodes and Rollins must overcome The Rock and Reigns in a tag team match on Night One to prevent interference in their subsequent title bout.
Fans await eagerly to see if Rhodes can emerge victorious against the dominant Reigns at WrestleMania’s grand event, adding to the anticipation surrounding the clash.
