Former WWE champion Chelsea Green recently took to social media to share a nostalgic throwback image, showcasing a remarkable moment achieved during the pandemic while she was away from WWE.
Amidst the flurry of releases during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chelsea Green found herself departing from WWE.
Following the expiration of her 90-day no-compete clause, she ventured back into the independent circuit, making waves across various promotions.
From Ring of Honor to NWA, Green showcased her talents before eventually finding a home in Impact Wrestling.

However, it was a surprise return to WWE at the dawn of 2023 that truly turned heads, as she made an unexpected appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Taking to her X account, Chelsea Green reminisced about her Ring of Honor debut, sharing a throwback image despite wrestling with a broken hand, demonstrating her resilience during challenging times. “My ROH pandemic debut. Broken arm? Yolo,” Green fondly recalled.
Despite setbacks, Green’s determination remained unwavering. Scheduled to participate in the ROH Women’s World Championship tournament in July 2021, she encountered a roadblock when the Maryland Athletic Commission prohibited her from competing due to her injury.
However, undeterred, she made her in-ring debut for ROH a month later, teaming up with Sumie Sakai in a valiant effort against Miranda Alize and Rok-C.
In a recent interview on the Lightweights podcast, Green delved into various topics, including the most excruciating WWE move to endure.
Reflecting on her experiences, she highlighted Raquel Rodriguez’s Tejana Bomb as particularly daunting due to its height.
“The Tejana Bomb, I think it’s called, from Raquel,”
Green remarked.
“That’s a scary one because you’re up really high.”
Despite the challenges, Green has persevered, showcasing her prowess on WWE’s Main Event and securing victories over formidable opponents like Gigi Dolin, Tegan Nox, Candice LeRae, and Natalya.
Her journey from ROH debut to WWE return stands as a testament to her resilience and passion for the sport, inspiring fans worldwide.
