After the release of Echoes of the Fallen in December, Final Fantasy 16 is gearing up for its next DLC installment, slated for April.
Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide, set before the main game’s conclusion, is scheduled to launch on April 18th. Players can acquire this expansion individually or opt for the discounted Expansion Pass, available on the PlayStation Store.
Square Enix tantalizes fans with a premise involving an intriguing request delivered via an unmarked letter: the rescue of Leviathan’s Dominant, the long-lost Eikon of Water.
This quest takes protagonist Clive and his comrades to Mysidia, a concealed world beneath azure skies, where they’ll uncover the tragic history of a forgotten civilization.
Moreover, a challenging new mode called Kairos Gate awaits players, featuring 20 progressively difficult stages set in a virtual underworld. Completion of The Rising Tide and the main game’s scenarios unlock access to this mode.
Purchasers of The Rising Tide or the Expansion Pass receive special bonuses, including a reimagined version of the iconic “Curtana” weapon and Orchestrion Rolls for background music.
Alongside the DLC’s release, an update will introduce features such as the “Quick Complete” function for quests, icon updates for character quests, a Skill Set feature for saving unique sets, adjustments for easier use of abilities and accessories, customizable button layouts, enhancements to Photo Mode, and additions to the orchestrion rolls.
Although details regarding Final Fantasy 16’s PC release remain elusive, series producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed the PC version is in its final optimization stages.
While specifics about the PC port are pending, Yoshida hinted at a demo preceding the release, likely within the next 12 months.
