Wrestling veteran Vince Russo believes WWE is penalizing Liv Morgan for injuring Rhea Ripley.
A few weeks ago, Morgan’s backstage attack on Ripley left the champion injured, leading her to vacate the Women’s World Championship on RAW.
In response, WWE organized a Battle Royal this Monday to determine the new champion, won by Becky Lynch.
During Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW, Russo expressed his view that Nia Jax was the logical choice to win the title.
He suggested that Morgan was unlikely to win due to her involvement in Ripley’s injury, hinting at management’s displeasure.
“I felt a lot of this was political. That’s why I thought Nia Jax was the obvious choice because I thought Becky was going to take some time off. I don’t think they were going to give the belt to Liv because she injured Rhea Ripley. There’s a bit of punishment involved.” [18:00 onwards]
With Becky Lynch now reigning as champion after RAW, the spotlight shifts to who will challenge her next on the red brand.
