With WrestleMania just around the corner, the anticipation is high as Jade Cargill gears up for her debut at the grand event. Eric Bischoff recently shared his admiration for the former AEW star, drawing parallels between her and wrestling legend Goldberg.
Cargill is set to feature in a high-stakes six-woman tag team match at WrestleMania XL, teaming up with Naomi and Bianca Belair against the formidable trio of Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai, and Asuka from Damage CTRL. Amidst a lineup of exceptional talent, Bischoff expressed particular excitement about Cargill’s performance.
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff highlighted Cargill’s rapid rise in the wrestling world, reminiscent of Goldberg’s meteoric ascent in WCW. Drawing parallels between the two, he emphasized Cargill’s potential impact:
“Jade Cargill…kind of like Bill Goldberg in a way… She hasn’t been around that long… She is documenting her career, starting in AEW and spending a couple of years there… But to get that big break, she is kind of like Bill Goldberg in a way.”
While acknowledging Cargill’s initial greenness in the ring during her AEW stint, Bischoff commended WWE’s patience in nurturing her talent.
Following her debut at the Royal Rumble, where she showcased her strength alongside Bayley, Cargill has been undergoing training at the Performance Center, preparing for her WrestleMania moment.
Bischoff echoed the sentiment that WWE’s decision to hold back Cargill’s in-ring exposure was wise, considering her potential. He emphasized the importance of allowing her ample time to develop her skills before stepping into the spotlight:
“I’m really, really glad WWE didn’t expose her and put her out there too soon because she wasn’t ready… When you have that much potential, you want to give that person every opportunity to succeed.”
As Cargill gears up for her WrestleMania debut, all eyes will be on her as she aims to make a resounding statement inside the squared circle, solidifying her status as a top superstar in the making.
