Enshrouded has unveiled what developers are touting as its “inaugural significant update,” which, alongside a myriad of bug fixes, introduces a much-needed alleviation to one of the game’s most arduous tasks and curtails an excessively potent healing ability.
First and foremost, it’s important to note that Enshrouded’s primary update doesn’t introduce any fresh content. However, it meticulously tackles a slew of issues that players have brought to light since the game’s Early Access launch last month.
While the comprehensive list of alterations can be viewed here, perhaps the most notable modification significantly reduces the time spent acquiring tin bars.
“Lowered the cost for Tin Bars to align them better with similar recipes,” declares a prominent line in the latest patch notes. Although the precise adjustment in ore expenditure for crafting tin bars remains unspecified, the prior cost has been a recurring source of frustration within the community, with many players speculating that the mechanic was inherently flawed.
Developer Keen Games has also toned down the effectiveness of Water Aura due to it being deemed “excessively potent.” While the extent of the nerf isn’t explicitly outlined in the patch notes, initial feedback from players suggests a reduction in efficacy by approximately 75%.
Despite unanimous agreement regarding the overpowered nature of the heal in its previous state, not all players are content with the extent of the nerf, a consequence often associated with the diminishing utility of a previously advantageous feature.
Moreover, the latest Enshrouded update diminishes the content reset timer to 30 minutes, with Keen Games elaborating that “the reset still only occurs while no player is in the direct vicinity of the part of the world that needs resetting.” Players will now encounter the first magical storage chest at the blacksmith at an earlier stage in the crafting progression compared to previous iterations.
