Emily Blunt shared insight into the most “stressful” stunt she’s done, and it may come as a surprise to fans. While the Oscar-nominated actress faced death-defying stunts in her recent movie, The Fall Guy, she revealed to People magazine that her scariest stunt occurred in 2018’s Mary Poppins Returns.
“That entrance was very stressful for me,” she reminisced about the scene.
Blunt, who portrayed the iconic Julie Andrews role in Disney’s musical sequel, detailed her character’s entrance, which required her to descend from the clouds with an umbrella held aloft, effortlessly walking into a close-up shot.
“I did three takes — and then I felt my tolerance go, ‘Pfft!’ And that was it. I was done,” she recalled.
Despite director Rob Marshall’s inclination for a fourth take, Blunt promptly declined.
“I was like, ‘Nope, no, no, no, I’m done.’ It was over,” she asserted.
While Blunt engaged in a fight scene in The Fall Guy alongside Ryan Gosling, some might have expected her scariest stunts to occur in the sci-fi action movie Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise, but that wasn’t the case.
“I did some wire stuff in Edge of Tomorrow, which was probably more dangerous because I took some spills,” she remarked.
Her performance in the 2014 film also earned her a Critics Choice Award for best actress in an action movie.
