Eddie Murphy received family support at the world premiere of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F on June 20. The 63-year-old actor was accompanied by his daughters Bria, Shayne Audra, and Bella, all from his previous marriage to Nicole, along with his fiancée Paige Butcher. The event took place at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, marking a significant moment for Murphy and his family.
Bria, who has a cameo in the movie, and Shayne Audra stood out in green outfits, while Bella chose a classic black dress, and Paige looked striking in a red strapless midi dress. Eddie himself kept it simple yet stylish in a dark T-shirt, black jacket, matching pants, and sunglasses. The premiere also saw the attendance of co-stars such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Bacon, Judge Reinhold, and Paul Reiser.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is the fourth installment in the franchise and features Murphy’s character, Detroit detective Axel Foley, returning to Beverly Hills to thwart a plot against his daughter Jane.
The movie includes a mix of old friends like Billy Rosewood and Taggart, as well as new characters such as Detective Bobby Abbott, played by Gordon-Levitt. This film marks the first sequel since Beverly Hills Cop III, released three decades ago.
In a recent interview with Al Roker on the Today show, Eddie Murphy shared his experience working with his daughter Bria and son-in-law Michael Xavier on the film. He humorously recounted how Michael tased him for a scene in the movie and mentioned Bria’s role where she arrests him.
Eddie reflected on their close-knit family dynamic, recalling Bria and Michael’s wedding in 2022, where he danced with his daughter to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely.”
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is set to premiere on Netflix on July 3, promising fans of the franchise an exciting new chapter. The movie not only brings back familiar faces but also introduces new characters, blending nostalgia with fresh elements and highlighting the significance of family both on and off-screen for Eddie Murphy.
