EC3, a seasoned wrestler across NWA, TNA, and WWE, recently weighed in on Cameron Grimes’ unexpected remarks post his WWE departure.
Grimes, leaving WWE after a five-year stint, expressed surprise as an executive assured him of a permanent spot just days before his release.
In an interview on The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 delved into the mental challenges wrestlers face, stating:
“To be outright lied to, and that person [the executive] probably knowing it’s coming, is sinister, it’s sadistic, and it’s what happens.”
Reflecting on his own experiences and those of others, EC3 highlighted instances where promises weren’t upheld, citing the case of Wesley Blake who was assured a lifelong position but was eventually let go.
EC3 emphasized the need for transparency in wrestling decisions, especially regarding the direction of characters:
“You’d expect honesty, and that is the flaw of human nature sometimes,” EC3 said. “It’s baffling to me why, and I have a couple of ideas who probably this high-level executive could be, would just not be honest.”
Despite Grimes’ exit, his final WWE match was against Bron Breakker on SmackDown, concluding a chapter in his wrestling journey.
