EA may soon announce release plans for last-gen console versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, following recent ratings for Xbox One and PS4 in Brazil. Though this doesn’t guarantee an imminent release, news could be forthcoming.
EA first revealed plans to bring the game to PS4 and Xbox One last August. CEO Andrew Wilson emphasized the game’s critical and commercial success, calling it a significant event in the Star Wars franchise this year.
Wilson mentioned that strong community demand prompted the decision to port the game to older consoles. EA aims to maintain player engagement by leveraging key Star Wars moments throughout the coming year.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC last April, reaching millions of players despite initial bugs and performance issues. Respawn has since released updates to address these problems.
In March, Respawn faced layoffs as part of broader cuts at EA, resulting in the cancellation of a Star Wars FPS. However, the studio is reportedly working on a third entry in the Star Wars Jedi series.
