United States Champion Drew McIntyre recently addressed the Twitter exchange with Logan Paul, responding to the YouTuber’s video taking credit for McIntyre’s victory over Randy Orton at the Elimination Chamber.
During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump, McIntyre shared his thoughts on the matter. He acknowledged Logan’s video, appreciating the exposure it brought due to Logan’s massive fanbase.
However, he warned anyone attempting to troll him on social media, stating that he would respond with unbridled intensity. McIntyre emphasized that he had held back for years, but now, he was not restraining himself anymore.
“I appreciate Logan taking the time to make a video. He has a huge fanbase, which puts my name across his huge fanbase. He’s obviously very talented at putting videos together. It was [a] nice little video to watch. I suggest if you come at me on social media, you’re prepared for my responses because I’m unleashed. I’ve been holding back for a few years now. But I’m not holding back anymore. So, you’re taking a huge risk if you’re coming after Drew McIntyre, and that was me being gentle in my response,” explained McIntyre.
Additionally, McIntyre addressed his discontent with WWE announcers, particularly Michael Cole and Pat McAfee, who portrayed him negatively.
He expressed frustration, asserting that the commentary team, especially Cole, influenced fans’ perceptions and feelings about him, painting him as the antagonist.
“It bothers me a lot. Not Michael Cole specifically, but Pat (McAfee), and anybody in commentary—they are the voices of WWE. Michael [Cole] is the voice of WWE; he controls the narrative. He affects exactly how the fans think and feel, and he is painting me with this negative brush. I can’t swear on here, but it pees me off,” Drew expressed.
With his focus on WrestleMania XI, McIntyre is set to face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Having suffered previous losses to Rollins, McIntyre aims to overcome The Visionary in their upcoming showdown at The Show of Shows.
