Destiny 2 has seen a significant boost in its player count recently, thanks to the release of the Into the Light update.
This popular FPS game, which is approaching its fourth anniversary, typically maintained a steady player base of around 30,000 to 50,000 concurrent players over the past year.
However, the launch of Into the Light brought a remarkable change.
Recent Player Surge and Exciting Updates
On April 9, Destiny 2 reached an impressive peak of 134,042 concurrent players, marking its highest number in eight months.
Following the update, the game has consistently maintained a strong player base, with peak concurrent players ranging from 90,000 to 100,000 during busy hours and around 60,000 during quieter times.
The surge in players can be attributed to the high-quality content introduced in the Into the Light update.
This update introduced a variety of new features, including a new PvE game mode called Onslaught, a new social space known as the Hall of Champions, three new PvP maps, character customization options, and the return of beloved BRAVE weapons.
The Into the Light update has not only enticed existing players back into Destiny 2 but has also attracted new players to try out the game.
With the upcoming major update, The Final Space, set for release in June, Destiny 2 is poised to solidify its position as a powerhouse in the FPS gaming community once again.
