AEW’s Darby Allin is renowned for his daring nature, both inside and outside the ring. In All Elite Wrestling, he’s known for his high-risk maneuvers, such as diving off ladders through panes of glass.
Even during his downtime, he’s no stranger to risk-taking, as seen when he attempted to jump over his own house in a car and performed stunts on a tricycle. However, Allin’s streak of daring exploits has hit a snag with another injury.
Allin has been sidelined since the “Big Business” episode of “AEW Dynamite” in March, where he fractured his foot during a match with Jay White, a setback that also dashed his hopes of climbing Mount Everest.
Adding to his woes, Allin recently revealed on Instagram that he was hit by a bus while crossing a street in New York City.
“That awkward moment when your crossing the street in New York with a broken foot and get hit by a bus,” he wrote. “Least I can have a good time with @raymond_pettibon_ and catch a broadway show lol”
Prior to his foot injury, Allin was on track for one of his most successful years. He and Sting clinched the AEW Tag Team Championships on February 7 by defeating Big Bill and Ricky Starks in a Tornado Tag Match.
They went on to defend the titles against The Young Bucks in the main event of the AEW Revolution on March 3, emerging victorious.
With this win over Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, Allin and Sting concluded their team with a 100% win rate, as Sting officially retired from wrestling after the event.
Allin was gifted Sting’s bat upon The Icon’s retirement, but the bat is now in the possession of Jay White, who has been flaunting it on TV since injuring Allin at “Big Business.”
