Dakota Johnson’s superhero ensemble for the upcoming Sony Marvel film Madame Web made an unexpected debut on an Ocean Spray bottle spotted in China.
Despite a clearer image surfacing shortly after the bottle’s appearance online, the official source of the image remains unclear. The promotional material for the movie has deliberately concealed the appearance of the titular hero, leaving fans eagerly anticipating more glimpses of the iconic red attire. Johnson recently hinted at an intriguing detail of the costume: its bell-bottomed trousers.
“Having a superhero suit tailored to my body was like a dream come true,” the actor shared with Total Film and GamesRadar+. “It was very cool and really fun. Her super suit is unlike any other hero’s suit I’ve ever seen. It’s really chic, with these flared legs, like bell bottoms.”
Set in 2003, the film follows Cassie (played by Johnson), a New York City-based paramedic who gains psychic abilities after a near-death experience. She is haunted by disturbing visions of the future, complicating her role as a first responder, racing against time daily.
One fateful evening, Cassie intervenes to prevent a man from murdering three young women, unwittingly entangling herself and the survivors in a perilous game with the relentless killer.
The extent of Cassie’s time in the bell-bottomed suit remains uncertain. Trailers and featurettes primarily show her in casual attire, consisting of blue jeans, a dark top, and a red leather jacket. Interestingly, glimpses of Julia Cornwall (played by Sydney Sweeney), Mattie Franklin (Celeste O’Connor), and Anya Corazon (Isabela Merced) in their Spider-Woman costumes have been provided.
Madame Web is scheduled for release on February 14. Meanwhile, fans can anticipate a range of new superhero films on the horizon. Stay tuned for an upcoming episode of the Inside Total Film podcast, featuring insights from Johnson, fellow cast member Tahar Rahim, and director S. J. Clarkson.
