Recently, Damian Priest, one of Dominik Mysterio’s stablemates in Judgment Day, hailed him as one of the most underrated superstars in WWE.
Despite being a former NXT North American Champion, Priest acknowledged that Mysterio faces considerable animosity from fans, often receiving boos during his appearances.
However, Priest emphasized the significant transformation in Mysterio’s career since joining the villainous faction in 2022, particularly highlighting his chemistry with Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.
Speaking on YoJoshMartinez, Priest shared his perspective on Mysterio’s underrated status:
“I’ll go with my own crew. I think Dominik is underrated… I think people see him as the guy that was fun to boo him, and then he gets in the ring and I think he kinda [gets people] like ‘whoa, where did that come from?’ He’s good, he’s really good, and I think people forget that because they just know the guy that gets booed because it’s fun to boo him.”
Priest emphasized Mysterio’s significant improvement since joining Judgment Day, highlighting the stark contrast in his abilities before and after joining the faction.
Despite his underappreciated talent, Mysterio has struggled to secure victories in 2024, with his recent loss to Ricochet on Monday Night RAW adding to his string of defeats. While Mysterio managed to secure a win against The Miz earlier in the year, he has faced defeat in every televised match since.
Reflecting on Mysterio’s journey, it’s worth noting his iconic showdown with his father, Rey Mysterio, at WrestleMania 39 last year.
As speculation looms regarding Mysterio’s potential appearance at this year’s WrestleMania, fans await eagerly to see if he’ll grace the Grandest Stage of Them All once again and who his opponent might be in this high-stakes encounter.
