The legal battle between Britney Spears and her father over the former’s conservatorship is ongoing.
On Tuesday, Jamie Spears filed a motion for summary judgment regarding the financial objections raised by Britney Spears in an attempt to avoid proceeding with a trial.
Court documents obtained by PEOPLE state,
“Jamie brings this motion because there are no triable issues of material fact, and Jamie is entitled to judgment as a matter of law on Britney’s Objections.”
Britney’s objections include issues such as compensation to Tri Star Sports & Entertainment and payment of attorneys’ fees to Sidley Austin LLP.
Jamie also seeks a judgment on her three requests for more information, namely accounting compensation to Tri Star Sports & Entertainment, payment of rent for storage space, and investment valuation differences.
According to reports, he aims to have the judge overrule all of Britney’s objections and remove the “May 13, 2024 trial off the calendar.”
This development follows Britney’s absence from her social media platforms, sparking concerns about her financial situation as she was required to pay an additional $2 million for her father’s legal fees, in addition to her own bill of $4 million.
However, according to an insider speaking to Daily Mail, the singer “couldn’t be happier” after finally severing ties with her father.
