Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is set to launch worldwide on March 21, marking the arrival of the free-to-play mobile adaptation featuring the beloved Verdansk and Rebirth Island maps. This iteration introduces cross-platform content sharing and progression synchronization between the PC and console versions of Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. Let’s delve into how this cross-progression works and what content players can expect to share.
How Cross-Progression Works in Warzone Mobile
Cross-progression in Warzone Mobile facilitates the seamless transfer of “compatible unlocked content” and progress between the PC and console versions of Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. Upon release, players will simply need to log in to Warzone Mobile using their Activision ID to initiate the transfer of their Player ID, compatible content, and existing progression. Regardless of the platform played, players will advance in rank and battle pass progression.
Should players opt not to link their account, they will need to start anew with a guest account on Warzone Mobile, forfeiting access to previously unlocked content within Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone.
Content Sharing
Most operator skins, weapon blueprints, and cosmetics are expected to carry over to Warzone Mobile. However, akin to Call of Duty’s Carry Forward program with MW2 and MW3, certain items, particularly those related to Zombies and select battle pass content, may not transfer.
To aid player discernment, all items will be tagged with visible indicators, denoting their origin and whether they are shared or exclusive. An icon symbolizing connected links will signify shared content, while a game monitor icon will identify items exclusive to the PC and console.
Battle Pass Progression
Upon launch, the Season 2 battle pass will be accessible in Warzone Mobile, offering new players the opportunity to unlock content through free tiers or purchase the standard, tier-skipping, or premium bundles. Existing players will find their earned Season 2 pass items unlocked in Warzone Mobile, excluding Zombies-related items.
XP Tokens
Players with linked accounts will retain access to their accrued XP tokens, including double XP, weapon XP, and battle pass XP tokens, for use across Warzone, MW3, and Warzone Mobile.
CoD Points
Notably, CoD Points do not transfer between games, meaning purchases made in the Warzone Mobile store will not carry over to the PC or console versions of Warzone or MW3, and vice versa.
In conjunction with the launch of Warzone Mobile, a celebratory event, Operation: Day Zero, will commence the following day. For further details on Warzone Mobile’s Operation: Day Zero event, players are encouraged to stay tuned.
