The 17th installment of Supercard of Honor has concluded, marking the conclusion of ROH’s annual WrestleMania weekend extravaganza.
The 2024 edition witnessed a surprising turn of events in the highly anticipated match between Billie Starkz and Queen Aminata.
Competing for the inaugural ROH Women’s World Television Championship, Starkz and Aminata emerged as finalists after going through a grueling 16-woman tournament.
Aminata secured her spot in the finals by defeating J-Rod, Taya Valkyrie, and Red Velvet, while Starkz overcame challenges from Robyn Renegade, Diamante, and Mercedes Martinez.
The bout was a seesaw battle, with both contenders showcasing moments of dominance that hinted at potential victory. However, it was the dramatic conclusion of the match that left spectators in awe.
In the closing stages, Starkz executed a daring senton from the top rope but landed awkwardly, immediately signaling to the referee that she had sustained a neck injury.
As medical personnel rushed to attend to Starkz, Aminata displayed genuine concern from her corner. It appeared that the match might be halted, handing Aminata a victory by default.
Even Aminata herself assisted Starkz in exiting the ring safely, showing sportsmanship in the face of adversity.
Yet, in a shocking turn of events, Starkz broke free from medical assistance and launched a surprise attack on Aminata, executing a German Suplex while still wearing a neck brace.
Ignoring the potential risk, Starkz proceeded to apply a sleeper hold, ultimately rendering Aminata unconscious to clinch the historic title.
The unapologetic display of underhanded tactics showcased Starkz’s newfound aggressive streak, a trait seemingly nurtured under the guidance of mentor Athena in recent months.
