WWE Superstar Austin Theory recently took to social media to address a real-life altercation before the upcoming 2024 Elimination Chamber event in Perth.
The internet was abuzz when a video surfaced showing the 26-year-old wrestler engaged in a heated exchange with editor-in-chief Anthony De Ceglie at The West Australian.
Tensions flared as the journalist questioned the authenticity of wrestling, leading Theory to confront him before leaving in frustration.
In solidarity with Theory, fellow WWE Superstars like Grayson Waller and Bronson Reed voiced their support, commending the former United States Champion for defending the integrity of the sport.
In response to the incident, Austin Theory broke his silence on Instagram, making a bold statement by sharing a photo from the gym alongside Dominik Mysterio, both defiantly flipping the bird. The caption of the post seemingly aimed to challenge skeptics of professional wrestling.
“Let Em’ Know🚀⚖️🇦🇺,” Theory wrote.
Reflecting on his career, Theory recalled a dangerous moment he shared with former WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar. During a traditional six-man Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship in 2022, Lesnar executed a devastating F5 on Theory from the top of the chamber.
In an interview with The West Sport, Theory discussed how the perilous maneuver could have ended his wrestling career:
“To be honest, there’s nothing more dangerous in the WWE than the Elimination Chamber. And, I think I’m the perfect man to answer that question. If you take it back to my first Elimination Chamber for the WWE Championship, I was one of the last competitors left in there. But, I was with Brock Lesnar and I got F5’d off the top of the chamber. And, I could’ve nearly ended my career there,” Theory said.
The WWE Universe eagerly anticipates Theory’s potential on-screen appearance at the Elimination Chamber event, particularly during The Grayson Waller Effect featuring Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.
