CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has announced the expansion of its RED Playtesting Program to the United States, opening the doors for American gamers to participate in playtesting sessions for upcoming titles in the Cyberpunk and Witcher series. This initiative aims to gather valuable feedback from players, although potential testers should be aware that selection will be based on specific criteria set by CDPR.
To qualify for the playtesting program, applicants must meet several key requirements. Participants need to be at least 16 years old and either reside in or be willing to travel to Boston, Massachusetts, for on-site activities.
Additionally, CDPR is looking for individuals who are genuinely passionate about gaming, eager to share their insights, and not involved in professional game development. This approach ensures that the feedback is grounded in the perspectives of enthusiastic gamers rather than industry professionals.
Gamers interested in participating can sign up through their CDPR accounts by completing a form. If selected, they will receive an invitation from a CDPR representative a few days before the event.
During the playtest, participants will play a game currently in development, provide feedback to CDPR staff, and may have their physiological responses monitored using specialized equipment to assess their reactions to various in-game scenarios.
While the specific titles being playtested have not yet been revealed, CDPR has a rich portfolio of projects in the pipeline. Among these are The Witcher 4, which will initiate a new AAA trilogy, a separate Witcher game titled Sirius developed by The Molasses Flood, a modern reimagining of the original Witcher, and a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Additionally, the studio is also working on a unique standalone intellectual property that is separate from both established franchises.
The arrival of the RED Playtesting Program in the U.S. signifies CDPR’s commitment to engaging with its player base and incorporating community feedback into the development process. This initiative not only provides gamers with a chance to preview highly anticipated titles but also allows them to play a role in shaping the final outcomes of these games, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
