“Absolute Power” is a new DC Universe storyline where most superheroes might lose their powers. With Superman possibly out of action, Shazam and the Marvel Family are the strongest heroes left. Amanda Waller aims to take away their powers using her Amazo android, The Last Son, which can absorb superhero abilities.
In “Absolute Power: Task Force VII #1,” Waller sends The Last Son to steal the Marvel Family’s powers. Black Adam, a powerful member of the Marvel Family, poses a big threat to Waller and her team, the Trinity of Evil, which includes Failsafe and the Brainiac Queen. However, even Black Adam might not be strong enough to stop them.
The comic showcases an early confrontation between Black Adam and The Last Son. This issue features work by writer Leah Williams, artist Caitlin Yarsky, colorist Alex Guimarães, and letterer Dave Sharpe. Various covers are provided by artists Pete Woods, Dave Raposa, Dan Mora, Stephen Platt, John Timms, and Brad Walker.
DC’s official description highlights the intense conflict as The Last Son targets the Marvel Family after the fall of Metropolis’s heroes. The storyline promises to explore the Absolute Power event from the perspective of the villains, specifically the Trinity of Evil, providing a unique narrative angle.
“Absolute Power: Task Force VII #1” will be available starting July 10. This biweekly series aims to deliver a compelling and terrifying threat to the DC Universe, focusing on the struggle of the remaining powerful heroes against a formidable and organized adversary.
