Yuka Sakazaki sustained an injury during AEW Rampage. In her match against Emi Sakura on Saturday’s episode, Sakazaki attempted a springboard maneuver from the top rope but landed awkwardly outside the ring.
She visibly limped and showed signs of favoring her leg for the remainder of the bout.
According to Dave Meltzer, “Yuka Sakazaki’s leg injury in her bout last night in Peoria, IL with Emi Sakura was legit.” As of the following morning, the exact nature of the injury and its implications remained unclear.
Despite the setback, Sakazaki displayed resilience and completed the match, ultimately securing victory with a suplex off the ropes at 9 minutes and 30 seconds.
Last May, Sakazaki was announced to have graduated from Tokyo Joshi Pro with plans to relocate to the United States in 2024. She made her AEW comeback at the April 3 Collision event, defeating Trish Adora in her return match.
Additionally, she competed against Leila Grey during Wednesday’s ROH tapings in Indianapolis, with the match set to be broadcast on a future episode of ROH on HonorClub.
