Despite the controversy surrounding AEW’s decision to air backstage footage from All In on “Dynamite” last week, one positive outcome has been the resurgence of interest in Jack Perry.
The AEW star, who had not made an appearance in AEW since All In, received a significant reaction when he appeared at New Japan’s Windy City Riot a few days later and has experienced a surge in merchandise sales. And no one is more delighted about Perry’s rise than AEW Executive Vice Presidents, The Young Bucks.
Sitting down with “Sports Illustrated,” Matthew and Nicholas Jackson both praised Perry, with Nicholas going as far as to describe Perry as a breakout star who had been awaiting a moment like this.
As for Matthew, he takes great pride in witnessing Perry’s rise, particularly since the Bucks played a pivotal role in AEW signing Perry back in 2019.
“Jack Perry was one of my original AEW signings,” Matthew stated. “I came across a video clip of him on the independent circuit, and then I looked into everything I could find about him.
Years earlier, I had heard stories about a nine-year-old boy accompanying his celebrity father Luke Perry to wrestling training in Southern California.
I wondered, what happened to that kid? Apparently, he had been diligently honing his craft and developing into an impressive talent.”
“I watched his videos and thought, ‘Wow. He’s a young, handsome SoCal kid with a great head of hair.
He seems misunderstood yet exudes confidence. He reminds me a lot of me and Nicholas at his age.’ Returning from Japan, Jack Perry now possesses that edge and swagger.
Furthermore, after dealing with all the challenges he’s faced, he’s developed a chip on his shoulder. He’s a force to be reckoned with right now and is on the cusp of stardom.”
