Excitement brews as WWE announces the official debut of newcomers Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont on NXT television next week during NXT Spring Breakin’.
The revelation came during last night’s broadcast through a compelling vignette introducing the duo, who have been honing their skills at NXT live events and on NXT Level Up via Peacock.
Hailing from the 2022 Fall class of WWE Performance Center recruits, both Igwe and Dupont boast athletic backgrounds in track and field from their college days.
Their journey into the world of professional wrestling began shortly after joining the Performance Center, with the two athletes forming a formidable partnership in May of the previous year, primarily showcasing their talents on NXT Level Up.
Tyriek Igwe, a standout in track and field at Eastern Michigan University, showcased his prowess in various throwing events, including shot put, discus, hammer
throw, and javelin. Originating from Valley Stream, New York, Igwe brings a robust athleticism to the squared circle, as evidenced by his collegiate achievements.
Similarly, Tyson Dupont, who excelled in track and field at the University of South Alabama, boasts an impressive athletic pedigree.
Originally hailing from Haiti before relocating to Nyack, New York, Dupont’s high school days saw him excel in both track and field and football, underscoring his versatility and athleticism.
Despite their promising talents, Igwe and Dupont are among the last from their recruiting class to make their debut on NXT television. Their peers from the same class, including Karmen Petrovic, Izzi Dame, Kelani Jordan, Adriana Rizzo, Carlee Bright, Brinley Reece, and Jazmyn Nyx, have all had their moments in the spotlight, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the duo’s long-awaited arrival.
In other WWE news, the recent days have seen a wave of superstar releases, headlined by the departure of Jinder Mahal. The former WWE champion took to social media on April 19 to announce his contractual release, marking the end of his tenure with the company.

Joining Mahal in the list of released talents are Sanga, Veer Mahaan, Xia Li, Xyon Quinn, Von Wagner, and Cameron Grimes. Each wrestler now faces a 90-day no-compete clause before they can explore new opportunities elsewhere.
Reports suggest that these releases stem from a combination of budgetary constraints and creative decisions. Despite their talents, some wrestlers found themselves underutilized or without clear career trajectories, leading to their departure from the WWE roster.
