Trick Williams claimed the NXT Championship from Ilja Dragunov at NXT Spring Breakin’ Week One in a thrilling 12-minute showdown, solidifying his place as the new titleholder.
Following this significant victory, a wave of reactions flooded social media from various WWE Superstars and wrestlers, celebrating Williams’ achievement.
Stars from the wrestling world took to platforms like X/Twitter and Instagram to extend their congratulations to Whoop That Trick, acknowledging the significance of his triumph.
Booker T, a former World Heavyweight Champion, weighed in on Trick Williams’ status within the WWE hierarchy during a conversation with Graham GSM Matthews for WrestleRant.
Booker expressed his belief that Williams might not yet be prepared for the main roster.
“By the time he gets to that next level, and I can say this, is Trick Williams ready for the main roster right now? Me personally, I don’t think so,” Booker T remarked. “But that’s what NXT is for, to get these young guys ready for that next level, just like Carmelo Hayes. For the last two years, he’s been grinding. Give Trick Williams that same amount of time and see how this young man develops. He is truly going to be a generational talent in this business that hasn’t come along in a long time.”
With the NXT Championship now adorning his waist, Trick Williams is poised for an extended tenure on the NXT roster.
At 29 years old, he has ample time to continue honing his craft, potentially realizing Booker T’s prediction of becoming a transformative talent within the industry.
