The WWE 2K24 DLC and Season Pass release schedule is almost complete, with only the WCW Pack remaining. This final pack, set to release on November 13, will include iconic wrestling legends like Lex Luger and The Great Muta.
Earlier DLC packs have introduced a mix of classic and contemporary wrestlers, adding new life to the game with stars such as CM Punk, Jade Cargill, and Michelle McCool. These new characters keep the game engaging for fans, bringing in fresh faces and beloved legends.
Players can acquire these WWE 2K24 DLC characters through two simple methods. The first is by purchasing the Season Pass for $39.99, which includes all the DLC packs along with bonus content like the MyRise Mega-Boost pack and the SuperCharger.
The second option is to buy individual packs for $9.99 each. Interestingly, buying all the individual packs ends up being slightly cheaper than getting the Season Pass. However, the Season Pass offers additional benefits that might appeal to dedicated players.
The DLC for WWE 2K24 focuses heavily on adding old-school legends. Fourteen classic wrestlers are being introduced, starting with the ECW Punk Pack in May, which included Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Terry Funk, and Sandman. Sandman’s inclusion was particularly exciting for fans, as his last appearance in a WWE game was in 2008. These old-school wrestlers bring nostalgia to the game, appealing to longtime wrestling fans.
Following the ECW pack, the Post Malone & Friends Pack was released on June 26, adding Honky Tonk Man, Sensational Sherri, Mosh, Thrasher, and manager Jimmy Hart. Michelle McCool was then added as part of the Global Superstars Pack on September 18.
The final legends pack, the WCW Pack, will drop in November and will include Diamond Dallas Page, Iron Sheik, Mr. Perfect, and the Great Muta, a legendary Japanese wrestler whose inclusion is highly anticipated.
In addition to legends, WWE 2K24’s DLC includes several current-era stars from Raw and Smackdown. CM Punk headlined the list, making his return to WWE 2K24 on May 15, after also appearing in AEW Fight Forever. Other modern stars like Jade Cargill, Nia Jax, Carlito, Kairi Sane, and Dragon Lee were added in September.
However, the delayed release of these contemporary wrestlers sparked debate among fans who had to wait several months to access these characters.
NXT, on the other hand, received minimal attention in this year’s DLC. Unlike WWE 2K23, which featured 12 NXT up-and-comers, WWE 2K24 only introduced one NXT wrestler: Lyra Valkyria, who was added to the Global Superstars Pack in September.
Valkyria’s inclusion surprised some fans, as she had recently won the NXT Women’s Championship, leading many to believe she should have been included in the base game rather than as DLC.
The game’s DLC also included celebrity appearances, with rapper Post Malone making his WWE 2K24 debut in June. His inclusion came as part of the Post Malone & Friends Pack, which followed his role as the game’s soundtrack curator.
Pat McAfee, a former NFL punter and WWE commentator, was introduced on July 31 in his own pack, which also included his podcast team members. While McAfee’s addition was met with excitement, some fans were disappointed that these celebrity inclusions came at the expense of additional wrestling characters.
To recap, WWE 2K24’s DLC schedule includes five major packs. The ECW Punk Pack launched on May 15, followed by the Post Malone & Friends Pack in June, the Pat McAfee Pack in July, and the Global Superstars Pack in September.
The final pack, the WCW Pack, will be released on November 13. These DLC packs have kept the game exciting with a diverse mix of wrestling legends, modern superstars, and celebrity figures, appealing to a wide range of fans across different eras.
