Pikachu Takes Center Stage in Jax Jones’ Latest Music Video, “Never Be Lonely”
In an electrifying collaboration, Jax Jones teams up with The Pokémon Company International to unveil the music video for his latest single, “Never Be Lonely,” featuring the talented German singer-songwriter Zoe Wees. Released today alongside the single, the video showcases an out-of-this-world adventure starring none other than the beloved Pikachu.
Set against the backdrop of a UFO-turned-stadium, the video kicks off with Pikachu’s unexpected abduction onto the grand stage where Jones and Wees are set to perform. Surprisingly, Pikachu doesn’t seem too perturbed by the turn of events.
Instead, the iconic Pokémon joyfully interacts with the duo, joining in their performance with infectious dance moves. And true to Pikachu’s electrifying nature, the stadium lights up in a dazzling display as Pikachu unleashes its signature electrical powers.
Adding an extra layer of intrigue, Ceruledge makes a discreet appearance at the outset, projecting onto the sides of buildings in the video’s opening scenes.
In a statement, Jones described the song as a “sonic journey into the heart of music and friendship,” expressing gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with The Pokémon Company. As a self-professed Pokémon enthusiast, Jones considers the collaboration a “privilege.”
This isn’t the first time Jones has joined forces with The Pokémon Company. In 2021, he contributed to Pokémon’s 25th-anniversary celebration album with the track “Phases,” featuring the soulful vocals of Sinéad Harnett.
Pikachu’s venture into the music world doesn’t end here. The iconic Pokémon also took the spotlight in Ed Sheeran’s Pokémon collaboration song, “Celestial,” which later found its way into the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet universe.
