Venturing into the perilous locations of Enshrouded in search of loot can be both thrilling and challenging. One persistent issue faced by adventurers is the limited capacity of their backpacks. However, a crucial upgrade exists to address this concern. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of expanding your backpack inventory slots in Enshrouded.
How to Increase Backpack Inventory Slots in Enshrouded
To augment your backpack inventory, you need Backpack Extensions. These can only be crafted through the Hunter, an NPC you can rescue in the sandbox campaign. Refer to our Hunter location guide if you require assistance in locating and saving her.
Once you’ve successfully rescued the Hunter, establish an enclosed shelter for her within your base. This not only provides her with a safe haven but also unlocks a side quest. Your objective now is to secure Salt for her trade.
Where to Find Salt
Embark on the Hunter’s side quest, Salt Mine Location, by heading to the Egerton Salt Mines, as indicated on the map.
It lies west of the Springlands Ancient Spire fast travel point and slightly northeast of the Alchemist NPC’s location. Beware of the deadly fog engulfing the area and ensure you are adequately prepared to navigate the Shroud.
Within the Egerton Salt Mines complex, explore tunnels leading deeper into caverns. Look for square or cube-like protrusions on the walls, indicating Salt deposits that can be mined with a Pickaxe. Collect a substantial amount of these resources for the next steps.
Crafting Dried Fur
Return to the Hunter after your mining expedition to craft a Drying Rack. This structure requires 10x Wood Logs and 6x String. Place it anywhere in your base and interact with it to proceed with increasing your backpack inventory slots:
1. Click on the Browse Recipes button and select Dried Fur.
2. Add the Salt you’ve collected along with Animal Fur obtained from slain beasts like wolves and sheep.
3. The Drying Rack will autonomously produce one Dried Fur per minute as long as the necessary materials are available.
Crafting Backpack Extensions
Engage with the Hunter once again and choose the Craft option. You’ll notice the option to craft a Small Backpack, requiring 3x Torn Cloth, 5x String, and 4x Dried Fur.
Upon successfully crafting the Small Backpack, open your character menu and equip it. Witness an additional eight slots integrated into your backpack.
This marks the beginning of the process of increasing backpack inventory slots in Enshrouded. Keep in mind that the Small Backpack is just one upgrade. As you advance in the game and complete more Hunter side quests, you’ll unlock access to additional blueprints, such as the Medium Backpack, providing an additional +16 slots.
