WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus recently addressed fans’ reactions to an emerging star at a live event, emphasizing the need for support over booing.
Since her last appearance in 2023, Stratus has been away from the spotlight following her loss to Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage match at WWE Payback.
The focus of criticism is WWE Superstar Maxxine Dupri, who faced backlash from fans after a recent performance.
Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley previously called out fans regarding the incident, prompting Stratus to share her thoughts on the matter.
In an interview with Slam Wrestling, Stratus discussed the criticism directed at Dupri, highlighting the challenges of dealing with online negativity during her own career. She applauded the unity among female wrestlers in standing up to critics on social media platforms.
“I think these keyboard warriors have no idea what we do. I suffered it too… So it’s great that we can all use the platform of social media to [unite], and let [the critics] know that they can’t just talk s— and get away with it. I love that we can put them in their place,”
she remarked.
Stratus expressed her belief in Dupri’s potential and encouraged her to use negativity as motivation for improvement, drawing parallels to her own early career experiences.
“I think she’s doing a great job… I hope she turns it into a fire so that she can go back to them and say ‘Look at what I did now,'”
Stratus stated.
With only 14 matches under her belt, Dupri has room for growth in her WWE career. As WrestleMania XL approaches, fans await her next moves in the company, eager to see her evolve and thrive in the wrestling world.
