At AEW’s upcoming pay-per-view event, Dynasty, a new match has been scheduled, adding to the excitement of the event set to take place at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, this Sunday.
During Wednesday’s episode of “AEW Dynamite,” the Bang Bang Gang, composed of Jay White, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn, who currently hold the Ring of Honor Six-Man Tag Team Championship, issued a challenge to The Scissor Gang’s Billy Gunn, Max Caster, and Anthony Bowens.
In a backstage segment, Billy Gunn remarked that it seemed their opponents had finally “grown a set” by challenging them for a chance to compete for the championships they possess – the AEW World Trio’s Championship.
Subsequently, it was revealed that the match would be a winner-take-all clash for both sets of trios championships.
Previously recognized as the “Bang Bang Scissor Gang,” the faction experienced a fracture on the March 13 episode of “Dynamite” when White emerged victorious over Darby Allin and proceeded to inflict further harm upon him post-match.
The Acclaimed, alongside Billy Gunn, rushed to the ring to aid Allin. While White initially retreated to allow them to assist, he later struck Billy Gunn with a chair.
When Caster and Bowens attempted to intervene, they were overpowered by Colten and Austin, effectively signaling the disbandment of the Bang Bang Scissor Gang, which had united as a “super group” within the company during a January episode of “AEW Collision.”
