Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently shared insights into Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s interactions with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
During the latest episode of SmackDown, The Rock took center stage, delivering a scathing verbal assault on Cody and Rollins.
He issued a bold challenge, inviting them to appear on SmackDown and accept his proposal for a tag team match at WrestleMania 40.
Speaking on Legion of RAW, Russo delved into the dynamics at play within WWE. He speculated that The Rock might be receiving input from writers like Brian Gewirtz.
Russo suggested that The Rock’s intent could be to gauge Cody and Seth’s mic skills by consistently putting them in the spotlight.
“In my experience working with The Rock, you just had to give him guidelines for the promo, the promo was his. Just like Austin. I don’t think Gewirtz is writing anything like direct lines for Rock. But it’s like, I swear to God, I think Rock is in with guys like Rollins and Cody, I think Rock is in like, ‘Okay, let’s see how over you guys are. Let’s see it.’ You know Rock’s bring it? Like seriously.” [23:02 onwards]
Responding to The Rock’s challenge, Cody and Seth wasted no time in announcing their intention to appear on the upcoming SmackDown. They made it abundantly clear that they were prepared to take on The Bloodline.
With the anticipation building for the impending showdown, all eyes are on WWE as these four prominent stars converge under one roof. The stage is set for a clash of titans, promising an electrifying spectacle for fans worldwide.
