Swifties are convinced that Taylor Swift has reignited her explosive feud with Kim Kardashian on the track “thanK you aIMee” from her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
After the surprising announcement at the Grammy Awards, the pop sensation officially dropped her highly anticipated 11th studio album on Friday, surprising fans with the addition of 15 extra songs.
In a late-night Instagram post at 2 am, Taylor revealed that the project was a surprise “double album” after creating anticipation with a countdown clock on social media.
As fans delved into the album and noted songs seemingly directed at her exes Joe Alwyn and 1975 frontman Matty Healy, they were taken aback by one track aimed at Kim Kardashian.
In the song, Taylor sings:
“There’s a bronze spray-tanned statue of you and a plaque underneath it/That threatens to push me down the stairs, at our school.”
She also appears to reference Kim’s daughter North West dancing to her 2014 single “Shake It Off” on TikTok:
“And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues/And one day, your kid comes home singin’ a song that only us two is gonna know is about you.”
This sparked a meltdown among fans who took to social media as @piieceofmendes posted:
“Taylor ended Kim in 2024 omg 2024 is really having unexpected gag.”
@stay_prest added:
“Taylor dropping a Kim K diss track was not on my 2024 bingo card but I’ve never been happier.”
@andrewnucatola echoed:
“Taylor Swift dropping a song about Kim Kardashian in the year 2024 is the most shocking part of this entire album cycle.”
As @crisisofconsc questioned:
“Has anyone checked on Kim Kardashian after taylor swift just handed her, her a*s on a silver platter.”
A fifth swiftie @lilmiloais shared:
“She is absolutely valid to drag Kim Kardashian through the mud for what she and her ex-husband put Taylor through.”
