The Undertaker, a titan in the squared circle, continues to cast a long shadow even after his retirement. Recently, at WrestleMania XL, The Phenom made a surprise appearance during the main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
Following a Rock Bottom delivered to The Rock himself, Taker extended a hand to Rhodes, a gesture interpreted as a sign of respect for the rising star.
This wasn’t the only Undertaker news this week. Taking to Instagram, the legendary wrestler shared a photo with WWE commentator Pat McAfee, accompanied by a playful warning.
“Just reminding @patmcafeeshow that it’s better to stay on my good side! Keep killin’ it!”
the caption read. This lighthearted interaction added a new layer to the mystique surrounding The Undertaker, reminding fans that even in retirement, he retains a powerful presence.
But beyond the theatrics, The Undertaker also revealed a more personal side in a recent episode of his podcast, “Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway.” Here, he discussed the profound impact of Paul Heyman on his career.
The Undertaker credited Heyman, known in the wrestling world as “The Wiseman,” with guiding him through valuable connections and even offering financial assistance during lean times.
“He was such an advocate for me,”
Undertaker stated,
“getting me to Bruce who would eventually get me to Vince and that whole thing… he was a little better off than I was, I wasn’t making any money, a lot of times he would just pick up the rental car instead of us splitting it or he would help me out when he could.”
Most importantly, Undertaker credited Heyman with facilitating his exit from WCW, a pivotal move that paved the way for his legendary career in WWE.
The Undertaker’s openness about Heyman’s influence adds another dimension to his legacy.
It showcases not just the larger-than-life character, but also the man behind the mask – someone who built his success not just on athleticism, but also on the support of key figures like Heyman.
With his WrestleMania cameo, playful Instagram exchange, and insightful podcast episode, The Undertaker continues to prove that even in retirement, he remains a charming figure in professional wrestling.
