Former UFC star Ronda Rousey’s abrupt departure from WWE last year left many fans curious about her experiences within the company. Now, in her new memoir “Our Fight,” she sheds light on an intriguing encounter with Triple H.
Rousey’s WWE journey began with notable appearances before officially signing with the company. At WrestleMania 31, she and The Rock outshone Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a memorable segment.
Her official debut came at the 2018 Royal Rumble, where she confronted top female champions.
In her memoir, Rousey recounts a revealing interaction with Triple H during her debut preparations. She recalls confusion over instructions, particularly about her iconic WrestleMania sign gesture.
“Ever since John Cena had pointed at the WrestleMania sign a decade earlier, it had become an iconic gesture. It says to the crowd that this moment is a key moment,”
Rousey writes, detailing Triple H’s vague directives.
Despite being handed a map outlining her debut, Rousey felt uncertain. She sought clarity but received ambiguous guidance from Triple H:
“‘Feel it?’ I asked, incredulous, searching for more direction.”
Hours before her surprise Royal Rumble appearance, Rousey received final instructions from Triple H. “Just make sure you point at the sign,” he advised, emphasizing the significance of the WrestleMania gesture.
This pivotal moment marked Rousey’s official in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34, where she teamed with Kurt Angle to defeat Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
Beyond WWE, Rousey’s wrestling journey took unexpected turns. Despite her departure in 2023, she made sporadic appearances in other promotions, including The Wrestling Revolver and ROH.
As Rousey shares her WWE experiences in her memoir, her comments stir both intrigue and controversy, providing fans with new insights into her time in the wrestling world.
