Riot Games has released the unknown details of Inkborn Fables, the upcoming update for Teamfight Tactics, introducing a pivotal gameplay feature known as ‘Encounters.’
Accompanying this announcement, the development team has released a video explaining the myriad alterations, with the scheduled release date for Teamfight Tactics set on March 20th.
The spotlight of this update is undoubtedly the novel mechanic dubbed ‘Encounters.’ At unpredictable intervals within the game, players will cross paths with diverse characters on the board or even on the carousel.
These encounters have the potential to assist, impede, or significantly alter the game mechanics, injecting an additional layer of diversity into Teamfight Tactics matches.
Alongside the introduction of 59 other champions, two fresh characters from the Runeterra universe, the core backdrop of League of Legends, make their debut.
For the first time, Aphelios’ twin sister, Luna, steps onto the battlefield, joined by Kobuko, a Yordle martial artist making his inaugural appearance in both TFT and the Runeterra world.
Furthermore, Inkborn Fables boasts new tacticians, over 100 augments, and 27 traits, enhancing the game’s complexity and strategic possibilities.
Lynda Tang, the lead designer for Teamfight Tactics, shared insights into what players can anticipate with the forthcoming update:
“With Inkborn Fables, we aimed to explore a different ambiance in Teamfight Tactics, transitioning players from the festive atmosphere of Remix Rumble to a more laid-back setting, where they can immerse themselves in ancient legends and tales.”
“Inkborn Fables invites players on a journey to a mystical and natural realm brimming with beauty yet punctuated by unexpected occurrences. Players will unravel the set’s myths and legends through the champions, traits, augments, encounters, and more featured in Inkborn Fables.”
