As anticipation builds for this year’s WWE Draft, one prominent star is making waves by christening himself with a new moniker. With roster shake-ups set to commence this Friday on SmackDown, former Intercontinental Champion Ricochet has taken to social media to reveal his fresh persona.
Despite not being featured in a match at WrestleMania XL, Ricochet showcased his prowess in the ring by securing a victory alongside Andrade against JD McDonagh and Santos Escobar on the latest episode of RAW.
Today, he treated fans to a glimpse of his rebranded identity, dubbing himself “The Frontrunner” in a post shared on his official social media account.
Accompanying an image of himself, Ricochet proudly captioned his post with his new nickname, signaling a renewed sense of purpose and determination.
In a related development, Ricochet’s former tag team partner, Braun Strowman, remains eligible for selection in this year’s WWE Draft. Strowman, who last competed alongside Ricochet in a victorious outing against Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable and Otis, has been absent from competition since May 1, 2023.
Meanwhile, Ricochet reflected on his track record in high-stakes WWE matches during an exclusive interview with Wrestling’s Bill Apter.
Addressing his past shortcomings in premium live events, Ricochet likened the unpredictable nature of wrestling to a quote from Mike Tyson, emphasizing the significance of seizing the moment amidst the chaos of the ring.
With past accolades including reigns as Intercontinental and United States Champion, Ricochet remains determined to ascend to greater heights in WWE. As the draft looms and opportunities abound, all eyes are on Ricochet as he aims to make his mark and potentially clinch a major championship in the coming year.
