In the wake of The Rock’s impactful return to the WWE as the Final Boss, R-Truth, a seasoned WWE Superstar, recently offered his perspective on the Hollywood megastar’s stint.
The Rock’s resurgence injected new energy into the WWE terrain leading up to WrestleMania XL, prompting discussions across the wrestling world.
As The People’s Champ dominated the weekly television circuit in the buildup to WrestleMania XL, tensions escalated notably during his feud with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
Amidst the spectacle, R-Truth, part of the World Tag Team Champion duo, reflected on The Rock’s portrayal as a heel and his controversial actions, particularly concerning John Cena, in the marquee event of WrestleMania XL.
In a candid conversation with Steve Fall from Ten Count Media, R-Truth shared his candid sentiments regarding The Rock’s actions, expressing a blend of conflicting emotions.
“I still feel a certain way about that, but The Rock is The Final Boss. It’s a thin line between that, but I grew up watching John Cena. Not only that, he came as my guest to help me and The Miz. I think The Rock, he stepped across the line a little bit, and I still haven’t really ironed out what type of emotion I want to have about that. Whether I want to be mad, neutral, or [whatever], it’s okay. I still haven’t decided how I feel about it. I still feel a certain way,” shared R-Truth.
Following the culmination of WrestleMania XL, the WWE witnessed a paradigm shift as Cody Rhodes dethroned Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, marking the onset of a new era.
The Rock, visibly displeased with The Tribal Chief, seized the opportunity to impart a final message before his departure. Making a surprise appearance on WWE RAW post-WrestleMania, The Final Boss engaged in a tense confrontation with Cody Rhodes, exchanging words and titles during the segment.
Before bidding adieu, he left Cody Rhodes with a parting gift and hinted at a potential return to settle unfinished business with The American Nightmare, teasing an intriguing future confrontation.
