Within a single day, it managed to sell an impressive two million copies and achieved a concurrent player count of 200,000 within hours of release. Notably, this peak player count has quadrupled in just a day and currently stands at an estimated 815,000, as reported by the Steam Database.
It’s important to highlight that these staggering figures only pertain to Steam users, excluding those logging in through Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, or the Epic Games Store. Despite this limitation, the game’s unique take on the monster-taming subgenre has undeniably attracted a substantial player base.

In a social media announcement, developer Pocketpair expressed astonishment at the game’s momentum, sharing an image showcasing Palworld’s position as the tenth-highest all-time peak in Steam history for concurrent players. This places it just behind last year’s record-setting Baldur’s Gate 3, which reached a peak of 875,000 players.
Palworld’s impressive numbers are anticipated to continue climbing throughout the weekend, with the peak player count consistently increasing according to Steam Database estimates. However, the surge in players has led to server strain and multiple connectivity issues. Pocketpair assured players on social media that efforts were underway to resolve these issues, particularly with hosting co-op games on Xbox and Steam.
Additionally, the developer disclosed an “emergency meeting with Epic Games” to address connectivity issues on the storefront’s backend, suggesting that improvements should be underway or already implemented. As Palworld continues to captivate players with its unique blend of trading, creature-catching, and survival elements, its ongoing success seems poised to break even more records in the gaming world.
