As WrestleMania season wraps up, WWE gears up for roster changes, with new details surfacing about a significant call-up to the main roster.
Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams have been a dynamic duo in WWE NXT since their formation of the Trick Melo Gang tag team in September 2021.
However, their partnership hit a rough patch when Hayes betrayed Williams this February at NXT Vengeance Day, setting the stage for a showdown at NXT Stand & Deliver IV during WrestleMania XL Weekend.
According to reports from Fightful Select, Hayes is slated for a full-time transition to the main roster this summer, a move that has been in the works internally since before the Royal Rumble.
While there’s anticipation for a continuation of the Hayes vs. Williams feud on the main roster, Williams’ future post-Stand & Deliver IV remains uncertain.
Although he garnered attention with his appearance on SmackDown in January, WWE officials are deliberating on whether to proceed with his call-up.
Shawn Michaels has played a pivotal role in the storyline, advocating strongly for Hayes.
Collaborating with other officials and the two competitors, Michaels, as Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, has been instrumental in shaping the narrative.
As Stand & Deliver IV approaches, plans for the event’s main event are taking shape. While Ilja Dragunov defends the NXT Championship against Tony D’Angelo and Lyra Valkyria takes on Roxanne Perez for the Women’s Championship, speculation suggests a non-title match may headline the show.
Reportedly, Trick Williams vs. Carmelo Hayes is in contention for the main event spot, with WWE officials leaning towards spotlighting the intense Trick Melo Gang storyline. However, the decision remains tentative, and the NXT Championship match could still take precedence.
Aside from the marquee matchups, Stand & Deliver IV will feature Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin defending the NXT Tag Team Championship against tournament winners, with the final card set to be revealed soon.
